layout living room

I am trying to figure out the best idea for a living room layout. We do not have an entry way, so the front door immediately opens to the living room. Currently the back of the couch is the first thing you run into because of where the tv is placed. Tried placing the tv on the blank wall but from the fourth picture, as I stand in our kitchen, you can not see anything. Would it be appropriate in this situation to put the TV in between the windows? We plan on purchase a new tv stand and a run and rearranging a lot. The couch and coffee table are pretty much the only permanent pieces of furniture pictured below

I agree sofa on window wall TV beside stairs but really we have no clue as to the room size and what does the kitchen have to do with this ? If you want TV in the kitchen then do that or just your laptop on the counter . I like my TV in the kitchen but I use it for the news in the morning then for recipes maybe any other time so not a deal breaker. If it is important then we need a to scale plan of that whole living space showing windows, doorways where those lead and every measurement clearly marked posted here in Jpeg format in a comment .

It looks like you need to move things around some. You could try the TV on the wall opposite the windows, with a very long and low console under it. Then you could do the sofa facing the TV and get two swivel chairs to place on the wall where the TV and console are currently. You could get a rug, side tables, a coffee table, and try adding a console table next to the closet door to set down keys, etc. Please see a few designs of ours below for some furniture and decor ideas.
