Unlaquered brass vs Chrome in master bathroom

We have a vintage 1912 craftsman and are remodeling a master bath. The bathroom will have quite a bit of marble -- 12x12 grey and white checkerboard floors, calacatta white (which looks slightly greyer than expected) for shower, bathtub surround. and vanity top. The house has a lot of mahogany stain and original brass (which we love but spent a ton of time cleaning when we moved in) and so to warm up the bathroom and to make it cohesive with the house, we ordered a mahogany stained bathroom vanity. We love unlacquered brass and were thinking of having all the shower, bathtub and vanity fixtures be unlacquered brass ... but we also have an old brass shower rod in a bathroom downstairs that came with the house that seems overly patinaed and corroding.

So long story long ... given how expensive the fixtures are (looking possibly at Kallista), am nervous about longevity in a bathroom. Am considering chrome as an alternative but it seems sterile. Does anyone have experience with unlacquered brass in a shower and master bath.

I see some older threads on Houzz but there don't seem to be many responses on point ... so resurfacing here.

Thanks so much!
