I would do the green vase there and that is it when ever yu want frsh flowers fill the vase please no fake flowers .

No decor items, no mantel. The stone is it's own statement. Keep a basket of logs on the firebox. Remove the vase with dried materials. You have two windows flanking the fireplace, so plenty of nature to look at. Small items will clutter up the stone work. A large decor item, such as what you have covers the stone work.

I think housegal has a good point regarding the stone making a statement. Keep it simple. Looks like a lovely room!

Pretty fireplace! It doesn't need a bunch of decor items. I think that you should remove the flower art - it doesn't add anything (blends in with the stone).

Actually, the mantel is fine but keep the decor really simple. You could remove everything and keep the two items at each end holding the little glass hurricanes.

Or something more understated in the center of the mantel like this horse weathervane. Nothing else is really needed.

The reason I lean to letting the fireplace stand on its own is that you have very formal somehwHat heavy window treatments. An unadorned fireplace will make the room less formal and airier.
