As said many times here seeing it in someone elses home will not help you. Go buy a box bring it home and lay it out in your space with your lighting and stuff.. I have had cheap LVP in my walk out basement for 18 yrs no issues but not glued down it floats . Usually seams splitting has to do with movement of the floor underneath so maybe make sure that is not causing the issue before doing new . OUrs is a very thin vinyl that glues to each other so forms a mat and we installed over dri core in our basement it is great with 3 huge dogs in and out of free access dog run. This is great for our use . The clic type need a good installer for sure.

Flooring is like most other things -- the prep is the foundation for the final product. If the floor you have now is failing, it doesn't seem like a good foundation for a new floor. I would remove it and fix anything that might have been wrong under it so you don't double your problems.

Two potential problems, uneven subfloor and poor quality click joint. The tongue can be produced to easily crack off. Flooret Modine has a very strong joint system. They have just added laminate offerings.
