It would be helpful if you could post some inspo pics of transitional vintage spaces that you like so we know what that style means to you. What era of vintage?

This space has a lot of hard surface feel and contrasting colors that pack a punch, plus some real cliches of the modern farm look. To tone that feeling down you could:

1. Paint the island to match the cabinets. Consider a butcher block top.

2. Hang more vintage looking pendents - whatever that means to you, schoolhouse? mint colored version of what is there?

3. Brass hardware on cabinets for a less of a harsh contrast.

4. Stools with woven seats for a softer more textured look.

5. Remove one or both sets of those dust collector open shelves and either hang a cabinet on the left or artwork on left or right. If you like the shelves, paint them white.

6. Do you need the long arm sconces for adequate lighting? Can you add more ceiling lights for adequate lighting or smaller sconces? They look like a cramped mistake.

Thanks I should clarify that i like transitional style with mud century modern influences.

I want it to be warm and lived in but also not stuffy or too traditional.
