Overcast Day and Rebloom Starting

Today was an overcast morning, so I was able to get better photos for a change. Also, I have some rebloom starting today. Several of my seedlings and registrations have instant rebloom coming: two of the three clumps of Bubblegum Queen, Dearest Valentine, Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha #3 and the seedling below. I also have instant rebloom scapes coming on a couple of Pierces: Such a Blaze and Blue Jay Tapestry.

Grandma's Smile X Bubblegum Delicious started blooming on an instant rebloom scape today. It always had instant rebloom in Nashville too.

Spacecoast Francis Busby had a fairly clean bloom today.

Seedling SC Francis Busby X Blazing Cannons - The gold edge is not as ornate here in Indiana. This one has been blooming for a few days, but this is the first clean bloom.

Blood of the Martyrs looking more red than purple today.

The Color of Wonderful continues to have nice groups each day.

Coco's Curiostiy

Victorian Garden Emerald Breeze just started blooming at the end of last week.

The SC Francis Busby may not have the edge but it still has fabulous color as does Porterhouse. Grandma’s Smile seedling looks good on rebloom. Good to know it retained that trait!!

I like Victorian Garden Emerald Breeze. I can see the greenish tint to the mild yellow coloring. Pretty......I like The Color of Wonderful too. It just didn't like me. Another Douglas that didn't overwinter (twice) with my pot system. Apparently it needs the warmth of the soil as it looks great for you. It's a shame as I really liked this shade of pink.......Maryl

Brad - Thank you! I think the Grandma's Smile kid is a great shade of pink too.

Maryl - VG Emerald Breeze is a darker yellow here than it was in Nashville. There's not much green tint to it, but the bloom is large and ruffly. I really wish The Color of Wonderful had worked for you. It seems really happy here in the ground.

Kate - The SC Francis seedling does have terrific color, but I miss the more pronounced edge. I'm happy the Grandma's Smile kid is reblooming on a fan. Last year it rebloomed on every scape.

The Francis Busby seedling is still lovely without the edge. FB rebloomed here and has only one bud left. I hate when it quits. Cocoa's Curiosity rebloomed here too and it had a great year. Victorian Garden Emerald Breeze is pretty.

What was your later verdict on Pink Extraordinaire? You did get some good pollen crosses with it. Emmerich calls Blood a deep cranberry. That's what it is here.

Mantis - Pink Extraordinaire was not a good performer for me. It had beautiful blooms but not many buds. It was always short for me. I gave it to Kay. The seedlings all outperformed it.

Kay - I'm glad to see Coco's Curiosity rebloomed for you this year. I should have planted mine in September instead of late October. I hope it will perform better next year.

My favorites today are the two seedlings. The delicate colors of the Grandma's Smile seedling are lovely. The SC Frances Busby seedling is a super hot color. I also like Porterhouse.
