Friday's Floral Friends

The rain earlier this week has pushed up a few more late scapes and rebloom scapes. People told me when I moved here that I wouldn't get much rebloom, so I'm happy to see several with rebloom scapes.

White Ambrosia - This is the last regular bloom, but I see a rebloom scape starting. Fancy Lace, the other near white I have planted next to the house, also has an instant rebloom scape.

Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha 4 also has a rebloom scape coming. So now both of the Pink Ex kids have rebloom on the way.

The last blooms of SC Francis Busby and Bill Norris

Bubblegum Queen - The best, tallest clump of this intro is still blooming away.

Zuzu's Treasure did not appreciate being planted at the end of October. Scapes are short and few, and blooms are smaller than usual.

Linda Beck is still blooming well.

$exy Samantha's last bloom.

A bunch of pretty ones. I always liked your ZuZu's Treasure. Such a sweet color. I hope she doesn't pout next season.....Bubblegum Queen is looking marvelous. A pretty shade of pink. Because of our heat it's hard to get a solid pink like that not to turn into a pale pink; consequently I have very few pinks any longer........My Summer Snowball put out a few blooms last year and then faded away. I always liked seeing yours and will settle for that now..........and just Zowee! on that red seedling........Maryl

Glad to see your seedlings again. My Zuzu’s Treasure hadnt bloomed yet, it looks pretty good compared to others here. It will be interesting to see how big the blooms are.

    Debra,

I realy like your (Insider Trading X The Ultimate Sacrifice) X (Red Edition X The Ultimate Sacrifice) seedling. I also like Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha 4 seedling. You have certainly mastered the watermarks.

Maryl and David - Thanks for the comment on the red seedling. I do love that white watermark and the ruffly edge. It's hard to get the right petal color phtographing in the sun. It's a very dark wine red.

Kate - Bubblegum Queen did well in both our gardens. I noticed during our heatwave that it faded much less than its children and my other pinks because of the heavy substance of the petals.

Sherry - I look forward to seeing your Zuzu's Treasure when it blooms. I keep hoping more of the fans on mine might scape later.

Maryl - I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Summer Snowball. Sherry's never bloomed at all. I wondered if mine would flourish here and was pleasantly surprised when it was one of the best budded daylilies here this year.

Your blooms all looks great, I think my favorite is your red seedling, I am in a red phase right now though. Of the pinks your Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha 4 and Summer Snowball are in a tie, beautiful!

Wow, so many goodies! Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha 4, Summer Snowball and (Insider Trading X The Ultimate Sacrifice) X (Red Edition X The Ultimate Sacrifice) are my favorites. I always enjoy the Pinks x $exy crosses. Summer Snowball is a great mix of colors and wonderful form and style,, and wow is Insider seedling a nice bright red as well as a great form!

The Zuzu I have has had its best year ever with all that rain: taller, well budded and still lavender not pink. I like Mr. Mayor too.

Nancy G. - It's funny that you call Summer Snowball and the Pink Extraordinaire seedling pinks. They are purple in my garden and on my screen. I guess whatever device you're on makes them look pink.

Brad - I'm glad to read your Zuzu's Treasure is having a good season!
