Your handles should match whatever is used in the rest of the home.

Sometimes door handles on the interior of the bathroom are changed out to match the hardware finish inside the bathroom.

No one is going to notice. Spend your money elsewhere

Wait until after you wallpaper and then see what finish looks best and maybe make changes. If the handles on the vanity are odd man out, you can change or spray paint those.

I'd ignore the handle when deciding finish.

Use wallpaper on upper walls only, and combine it with tile or paneling below; it is better for style and function. And for the vanity hardware, if you can change them to ba matching with the door handle, it would be great!

Leave the door handle black to match the hinges. Switch the vanity hardware to match the other fixtures in the room.

I like the gold hardware on the vanity. I would not change that.

I really do not see any problem with the existing mix that you have, including the door hardware and handle. You could do a silver or gold finish on the handle on the inside of the door; but I wouldn’t bother.

It’s a small powder room. Visitors will be happy that there is a door to close and a door handle to use to get out. That’s it. Anybody who is taking note of and obsessing over the finish on the door handle, or any of the other finishes for that matter - has a whole other set of issues and, hopefully, they will not be on your guest list. :)

If you really wanted to coordinate the finishes more, I think a nice look would be to incorporate a vanity light that has the silver gold mix.

No matter what, I would do a nice soap dispenser. And this one, or similar, would connect the silver and gold. It’s a small detail but the details are everything. It would connect the metal finish dots. Easy. I‘d fill it with Dr. Bronner’s castile soap. I love Dr. Bronner’s. I am using the Tea Tree one, these days; and the castile also works great in my glass crystal type foaming dispenser. I love it.

Before installing the wallpaper I would move the towel ring and the TP holder so the other large walls are not spoiled and can receive art.

Outside handle should match what is on the doors of the rest of the house. Inside should match the bathroom decor,when it’s done.

Pick your wallpaper first and make everything else work with it. That is the hardest part of decorating a bathroom.

Thank you! My main question is more centered around the need to replace the gold handles on the vanity since there is no other gold in the house but maybe I’ll keep for now and see how it looks once everything is finished.

Keep all hardware as is. The black blends into the door color. It is nice to have a pop of gold. The fact that it is not used elsewhere in the house is even more reason to bring a bit of range and surprise in this room. Small bathrooms are the place to do something different. Enjoy the freedom.

I don't mind the door handle being different from the hardware used in the rest of the powder room but will advise to change all the hardware in the powder room itself to one type.

Finishes are mixed in spaces all the time, and this can actually add visual interest. imo, your powder room is enhanced by the touch of gold. And in no way does the powder room need to match the rest of the house; and in fact, they often do not.

There really is no right or wrong answer to this powder room metals situation. Metals are mixed in powder rooms all the time, and a powder room does not have to match the rest of the house. But if you want your powder room to match the rest of the house - then just match it to the rest of the house. Do what you feel most comfortable with.
