I had my kitchen renovated years ago and chose Silestone charcoal soapstone counters. They have no scratches or chipping, still looks like the day of installation. I love my counters. Sorry to hear you have issues.

That's a bummer, I thought the stuff was supposed to be fairly sturdy. What kind of chips and scratches do you have, where are they- on the edges or what? Is it something covered by your warranty?

This is unfortunate. I thought quartz was pretty bulletproof, with the exception of scortching issues when place behind a range. I wonder what recourse you might have -- I suggest contacting the shop you bought it from and talking it over with them.

If the "better and more reliable options out there" are engineered stone like Silestone, they are virtually identical.
