Can you post a wider view of the space? If storage space isn't an issue, I'd be tempted to take down that single cabinet. From your picture it looks like that is what is making the space feel so awkward. What's on the other side of the sink?

I'd take down both upper cabinets on either side of the sink. A corner sink is a poor choice from a function analysis. Making it feel more open would be an improvement. I wonder how a mirror would affect the space.

Suggest a substantial plant and a blind and/or shelves (stained the same as the cabinets) to help balance the corner, which is the issue.

I would remove as much clutter from the countertop and sink area as possible. And I would keep the decor very simple. All you need is a couple plants (real or fake) to draw the focus toward the window. I feel like putting artwork on the wall emphasizes the awkward cabinet/window layout, not to mention the sunlight will fade it. If you wanted height, you could always hang a plant or use a tall grass, but I would be cautious not to block the window.

Thank you everyone for the advice! So, lemme give a bit more context. I won't be able to remove the cabinet because we have very little cabinet room to begin with. Believe me, I wish we could. And unfortunately, we have a cat that likes to devour real plants, so I can't put any there. 

Here's another picture from the left side. We just put up the backlash but didn't put it on the other side cause where the top of the cabinet ends and where the cupboard ends, would make it look strange imo.

We have plans to repaint the cabinets (still black) but a remodel at the moment is out of our budget.

I should also mention that I like modern and farmhouse aesthetic. Oh, and it's hard to tell but the walls are green   

Nice small food related art work or landscape and nothing else whatsover. Remove all clutter from over the sink. You can corral dish liquid and sponges and keep them inside your nice deep sink or under it. Add cup hooks under the cabinet and hang your mugs there. Less is more.

Something you already have on the left side of the picture, because there is too much over there. Or nothing at all.

When you take something out of the fridge you might need empty space to set it down.

Perhaps hang some colorful ceramic, maybe a plate or platter. It won’t fade in the light, can tolerate splashes and steam from the sink, easy to clean, and even use if needed.

I'd remove the cabinet and replace with glass shelves.

My first thought was a plant.

Artwork on the wall. And then a small plant. Teach the cat not to jump up on the counters.

I'd hang a pretty calendar.

how about a place to keep lemons/ other fruit? I like those hanging multi tier baskets

Hi. I would get a few lovely artificial plants such as a Philodendron, maybe a cactus, some African Violets, and set them there since you have a cat. Also there are some plants that aren't toxic to cats. You can google what plants aren't toxic to cats and purchase them and sit them there. P.S. I like that you set the cup holder there.

I would put an Ipad there so that I can have entertainment while in the kitchen.

I would have continued the backsplash up this entire wall, just to add some texture. Remove placemat and mug tree and center a taller floral arrangement to the larger wall space. Move a couple of items from the left countertop to the right countertop near the refrigerator to balance. Nice view!

I would remove everything and just put a green plant or two instead of the flowers (artificial in your case). Something like Maureen showed. I'd also edit the items on and left of the sink. The cooking utensils should be by the stove, not the sink.
