Traverse curtain rod diameter

Hello, Had these 2.5" diameter rods installed at our cabin, and I'm wondering if they look too heavy.... would be better with a smaller rod. Thanks

    In this case they are well suited for the heavy appearance of the draperies and all the heavy details of the wood. Not sure I would want o open and close those draperies on a rod diameter that was less.
