that's too bad, the mantel is pretty high for such a small viewing area.

make a nice conversation area on the end with the windows with a table and lamp between. What stype of furniture do you plan on using? Need? An area rug centered on the fireplace and another near the end of the room to compliment, not match.

How many do you want to seat in here? What else happens in here aside from TV?

I agree, the fireplace is too high for a tv unless you mount it on a pull down arm.

We all need a floor plan showing all dimensions, windows, doors, fireplace, etc. We also need to know what furniture you have which you plan to place in the room with dimenisons. If you are buying new, we need to know how many people will be using the room, and how you plan to use the room, the more we know, the more suggestions will be valuable.. From what I can see, the TV over the fireplace seems too high.

A beautiful space you have. You;ll want to put the sofa opposite the fireplace and tv. I would put a chair catecorner on each side of the sofa. I am partial to big beautiful glass coffee tables as I have one myself. For the big wall at the end I would do a full length "entertainment center" for lack of a better word. A beautiful full length piece of wood furniture with shelves and cabinets below. Go big there. I would place a beautiful area rug under the coffee table as you have lovely hardwood floors.

We don't think the TV should be above the fireplace. You might try the TV, over a console, on the blank wall at the end of the room. Then look at doing a small sectional with a very small L shape on the wall across from the fireplace. Then look at adding some swivel chairs and a chaise lounge to the other side of the room.
