I wouldn't put anything on the mantel itself, the TV is enough.

I would do something similar, but not matching, same scale, colors, but not identical.

Do you already have some art you'd like to use?

That wall will be too busy if you put a lot of small things there. Maybe you have another wall area where you could arrange the vacation pics? You could use shelves which makes changing the arrangement easier. The picture Lyn posted shows how people usually arrange consoles and art next to a fireplace.

Did something change from your post a few weeks ago that you started a new one?

Not photographs in this situation.

None of the other selections in your room are casual enough for photographs. Place those on picture ledges in perhaps a home office.

There are multiple way to position art above your cabinets.

IMO your lamps are too short for this location

No accessories on the mantle.

Please don't do a red, white and blue color scheme in this room.

Mirrors are also an option in this location.

To start, I would centre the white cabinets on the wall between the fireplace and the corners instead of stuck in the corners.. Then find subjects you like for wall art and install high vertical frames on the wall as shown below. Keep everything simple plus remove the 2 small plants from the mantel.

IMO the tV is way too high and that should be above one cainet to the side and a piece of art above the other and the cabinets need to be wider . Trying to help with the big issue being ignored is useless ,
