Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Recessed Medicine Cabinet

Work on a primary bathroom reno started today. We are losing a linen closet (for various reasons) and opting for a 7.5-foot vanity with lots of storage. I had my heart set on sleek recessed medicine cabinets. The demo revealed a pipe in the wall where one of the medicine cabinets would go. Should I give up the medicine cabinet and go with two mirrors, or should we consider putting one medicine cabinet and one mirror if I can find matching ones? Photo of two that are a very close match. One is a recessed medicine cabinet and the other a mirror. Will it look odd to have one of each?

Love my Robern medicine cabinets with power outlet inside.

I would pay to have the pipe re-routed. 99% of the time the pipe or vent can be moved, but costs more time and money, when discovered late in a project.

There is another sink & recessed medicine cabinet to the left.

Two Robern 24" x 48" x 4" medicine cabinets.

Do you not have the room to build out the wall in front of the pipe? It will only take a couple of inches.

Thank you. I don't think so, as it is already a very small primary. I'll check with the contractor though.

Close would make me crazy if you now have lots of storage I would do mirros and be done A good locking box for medicine if you have kids , can go under the vanity where you have the storage

Having never had a medicine cabinet and having a nice large, lighted one with outlets now - I would DEFINTELY lose 4 1/2" of floor space for those built in cabinets. Having the stuff you use everyday at eye level and not in a drawer is spectacular.
