Advice for bathroom wall

Hi! I put a new vanity in my bathroom & the full wall mirror got cracked in the process so it was taken down. I will first smooth the wall & paint it white. But unsure on how to decorate the wall afterwards. I was thinking a white cabinet over the toilet, and maybe medicine cabinet mirror vs flat mirror over the sink.
Would adding a side medicine cabinet look too busy? The cut out is there so thought to use it. But could also just patch / paint the wall & keep it a flat wall (painted white). Any advice would be great! Thanks :)

Recessed mirrored cabinet in your side opening. Decorative mirror above sink. No cabinet above toilet - looks crowded. Artwork there instead.

yes to recessed medicine cabinet in the recess. Mirror over the sink too.

Yes, you definitely need storage. I'd keep everything white and frameless and change the shower curtain to solid white. Minimize the contrasts in such a small space.

Thanks for the input! Storage is an issue that’s why I was considering cabinet and/or medicine cabinet mirror above sink. But I agree it starts to look crowded. Hmm…

Definitely do the medicine cabinet in the recess. Raise your light higher and get a beautiful mirror. I have a very small bathroom and I have a cabinet over the toilet with glass doors. It is fine. You could do floating shelves or some other interesting shelf piece. To keep it neat looking, put all the stuff into a nice basket or decorative box so it doesn't look too busy.

I would also rethink the white paint. A color would look nice in there. A gray to go with your floor or use one of the colors in the shower curtain.

You need a new light fixture too. There are a lot of variations of the idea shown below. The current fixture looks like a relic from decades ago.

I wonder if you could do the longest possible medicine cabinet - something like 40" wide - over both the vanity and the toilet, then do open shelves in the old m.c. spot that you kept very curated. Then put organizers in the vanity since it's so hard otherwise to use that space well.

@Beverly - thank you for those images! I have been searching everywhere for a tool that could do that, to play around with options & visualize how it would look, but couldn’t find one. Yours gives me a good visual. Thanks :)

Not all the wallpaper can be virtually applied but it gives you the chance to see what works in your space and what doesn't. Also I believe you can order samples of wallpaper.
