This dilemma will be much easier to address once all the furniture, rug, drapes and bedding are in place.

Add everything in the space that you already have and you may find you don't need anything else. The ceiling and wall trim is enough visual information that it might call for a less is more look in here.

Leave the art till last once the room is filled as it is like putting jewelry on. You leave it till last. Do not worry about the panels as there are ways to put art nicely overtop of them.

I would also wait until you put the furniture in. Did you decide on the colorful rug or the neutral one?

Still need a rug (waiting on it to arrive) but set up my rice bed and I’m shocked how tall it is with a mattress. Like so tall! Would you forgo the box spring or keep it? Not sure what to do here

We would add wood slats across with no box spring if we go that route

Your artwork doesn't have to be limited to "inside the boxes" only. Artwork can be place over the trim that creates the boxes.

Still a work in progress. Objects on floor to flatten rug edges. Put bed set up so far. I’m shopping for art. Where would you hang art?

The room is looking beautiful! I agree—the wall boxes can be tricky, but they also offer great layout potential. I’d suggest a large statement piece in the center and maybe smaller complementary works in one or two of the other boxes. Happy to help if you'd like suggestions! 😊
