Those leaves and that growth habit has Dr. Huey written all over it!

Oh boy. Not surprised. Does anyone actually keep a DH?

I've kept a few of them. I actually like it, as it has beautiful blooms on arching canes for about 2-3 months here. However, it is quite invasive, so beware :-D

If you're in an area that blackspots Dr. Huey is pretty susceptible. It has nice dark red semidouble blooms but only blooms once and looks notoriously ratty and gangly and impossible to control the rest of the year. My advice is to dig it out carefully and fully now before it takes over the world. It would be far too happy in California to keep, IMHO.

I actually SP'd all three of mine in June, despite being fond of the blooms. And in one bed, it's already coming up :-o
