I don’t see the image. Can you post the image here in a comment? Or better yet, post pictures of your actual space. I totally understand if you do not want to post a picture of your home here; but in this case, if you want pertinent input about your fireplace and design you need to post pics of your space. Nobody is going to strain their brain trying to picture your setup.

So on this one - the brick has already been painted. Either restore the natural brick or paint it another color of your choice. Or cover it with another facade - such as tile. Beyond that - with no significant info from you, who knows?

This is what we call mystery meat because there is not enough information to offer good suggestions, but here is a picture of a corner fireplace that I have saved.
