Bland is in the eye of the beholder. Nothing wrong with your house and a black garage door would be a weird, and wrong, design choice for that house.

Spend money on improving your landscaping and if you really want to spend money and add some curb appeal, then get rid of the asphalt driveway and replace with pavers.

I would paint the garage door the exact color of the vinyl siding. Garage doors are not supposed to pop or be the first thing you see, they should just blend with the house facade. I would paint the door, but, not black. I would paint it a nice bright color that says welcome to your guests. The biggest bang for your buck, however, is landscaping, and your house while very nice itself, needs considerable work on the landscape. A small patio type tree in your front yard would look nice too. I cant see the size of your yard on your picture, but, if you have a lot off room, you could plant more than one patio tree. Look for flowering ones.

Exactly. Garage door should match the siding, especially a front facing one. Try to pull more focus to your front door/entry area.

I'd almost never suggest painting the garage door to match the siding. The result is a big mass of one color.

The white door looks good as is.

Work on the landscaping.

Remove the railing at the porch and the one above. I show a rectangular beam and square columns.

but if you keep them, I'd make them all wider.

When it's time to reroof, go darker.

You could replace the round top window and the 2 below it with a pair like on the 2nd floor.

House is quite lovely as is. I agree you need landscaping, which will make a very nice change!

Updated, more prominent back lighting fixtures (if keeping the shutters) including one to the right of the front would be nice.

Match the shutters

Removing the shutters would modernize the house and let the window trim + architectural lines shine.

I think a roof has such a big influence and when complemented, a house will feel more unified. If open to repainting the shutters, I’d use a muted/soft shade everywhere.

Also suggest removing the kick plate on the front door.

I like Maureen's suggestion of going with a more muted palette and softening the shutters.

I'd remove the shutters and leave the garage door as is.
