How long will you have the new bathroom? : )

Is it the ONLY remnant on earth? What is the rest of the bath going to be? Is it yours or a guest bath? What is the size of the remnant you need?

"Worried" is fine. When is the last time I did a bullnose anything? I do not remember: )

@JAN MOYER 120”. It is the second bathroom with two sinks. It is the bigger bathroom compared to the master bathroom. It is very hard to find considering how long it is. It is even harder to find a pretty piece like this. I spent a tons of time to find this one 😂

I would use the slab - always love a good deal! Not sure you will even notice the edge once it is installed

When I did a remodel, we had enough granite for several spots (kitchen, wet bar, hearth...) but not for one of the bathrooms without buying a whole additional slab. One of the stone yards I visited let me buy a half slab for that area. (It doesn't match my kitchen or other areas but that's OK because it's a completely separate space.) I'm sure it was more than if I had found a remnant, but it was less than buying a whole slab. This might be a possibility for you.

Having said that, although a half bullnose wouldn't be my first choice, in a second bathroom I don't think I'd notice after awhile.

Do you like a bullnose edge if you do then do it. I did a demi bullnose edge recently for my kitchen. I love it. When the saleslady asked the owner about doing the demi bullnose I could hear them talking. He said he hadn't done one in 2 years but yes he can do it for an upcharge. The cabinet installer had to come back over after I had my counters in. I saw the look of surprise on his face when he saw the edge. But I really like it in my kitchen with the cabinets.. If you don't think you will like bull nose keep looking.

Not a right or wrong choice ... just a different design choice.

If you need/want to sell the house next year, the bathroom counter edge will be an insignificant factor.

@chispa If I want to or don’t want to sell the house? There is a chance we may sell the house soon. This is why I have concerns about a lot of choices. Don’t want to make a costly mistake. 😁

I'm a kitchen designer.....I think a FULL Bullnose is not really popular right now. However... I love HALF BULLNOSE! Half bullnose has become one of my favorites lately. It was always one of the edges I kind of ignored and never thought much of. Until one of my clients did it. I was surprised by how much I loved it.

@The Kitchen Place Thank you so much for the pictures! it is a very pretty kitchen! It doesn’t look like a half bull nose to me. Is it 1/4 bull nose? I know when I looked up half bull hose, it gave me different pictures. Some of them are like 1/4 of a circle. Some of them have a smaller curve.

Yes, you are right. The edge you have is called Waterfall with my fabricator. So you're right....not the same, but very close. Here are some pictures of the edge in question. These are photos on my computer screen while I hold up MY edge profile samples, made of clear acrylic.

I agree with Jan. The cabinet installer was surprised because it wasn't an eased edge. It was just different then what most kitchens he's working on are getting. It was an upcharge for it for me so if you can get the remnant for less then the other slab it sounds like a good deal. I like it it gives a softness to the kitchen in looks. I have attached some pictures so yoy can see it better. My counter is quartz. The electric, hood, crown and backsplash are not done in the pictures but you can see the counter's edge.

Jan hit it! Plus this is a bathroom not a kitchen! No one buying this home will notice the edge on the counter in a bathroom. They will be looking at it's size and if it's clean! I think the real fix is dump the double sink in a second bathroom!! I hear couples doing this in an ensuite which is still ridiculous to imagine two people using a bathroom simultaneously but two other people living in the home sharing NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! Dump one sink, decrease your cabinet, and thus your counter need and there will be plenty left to do any edge you feel is IN at the moment!

Am finding fewer and fewer clients who want a bullnose on the countertops.

Bullnose works in contemporary/transitional and it is more comfortable to lean on for close up mirror checks.

@arcy_gw Thanks for bring that up! We have a 55 year old house with a wired layout. Our master bathroom only has one 48” sink and a shower. The second bathroom is a little bigger and has two sinks and a bathtub. I am not sure what we can do with the extra space if we only keep one sink in the second bath. Also considering we only have one sink in the main bath, is it better we keep two sinks in the second bath?

What is the hand wring about, actually?

Show the bath you're doing..in it's present condition.

You !!! BOUGHT THE HOUSE, and so too shall another. You can not possibly guess what another may want or need. If you aren't doing the remodel for you? You're crazy. At the point nearing the sale of a house, it matters not UNLESS you remain in the house.

Do you and yours use BOTH sinks in this bath or not? There lies your answer. Does it matter if you use both or neither? No. Does it matter the bullnose? No.: )

@JAN MOYER I am outside the whole day, so I can’t send any pictures. I am remodeling for ourselves, but we may move in 2 years. This is our house, not investment home.

@robinleva Thank you so much for the photos. It is a very beautiful kitchen. If you look from far, the things that matter the most are the color and pattern, not the edge. We have inset cabinets and only have half inch overhang. I am not sure if this matters if we do half bull nose.

Standard is one inch beyond the drawer/door face, to protect that "face"

If you are inset? Nothing protrudes beyond frame of cabinet...so the 1/2 is not going to be a tragedy unless you are a major water wrecker.

It's your home , "not an investment home" but you ARE investing, are you not? You "may move in two years" On the other hand, maybe you won't move for ten years! Life tends to happen as you are planning something else to happen.

If you desperately want an eased and polished edge? Look for a different remnant......or? Move on, take this remnant you love for the bath you ( probably ) rarely use and IF you did use it routinely ? I doubt that edge will push you over ANY EDGE!! LORDY....IT MUST BE FRIDAY : ) and edit here.....
