Center the T V and media cabinet on the wall + add two large pieces of art on each side.

Also, the media cabinet is a little too small for the size of the TV.

I would just add battery operated wall sconces.

Console should be about 25% wider than TV.

I would add a plant on left and call it done.

I can tell you that AI doesn't lose sleep over tv console lengths. :)

I would consider a floor lamp in the corner and a tall plant or vertical art on the left after centering TV/cabinet on the wall.

The console length was the first thing I noticed. If AI can't understand proportion, then it seems to have serious limitations in design. Proportion, balance, scale, are all important design principles that should be taken into account.

You don't show much of the room to be able to really see what you have in the orom but here's one idea. Place a longer TV cabinet and art around the TV.

@lisedv - OP is interested in adding interest ”without making it feel cluttered” .

You could do something similiar to this where the wood panel extends about 9-12" beyond each side of the tv and add lights. There are a lot of battery operated wall sconces that would work well there - although you'd probably need to relocate the lamp on that end. You could do something similiar to mimic the effect with paint if you didn't want to make a panel.

I'd like to contribute some ideas for the room, but one photo is not illustrating all that is occurring this this room. Add more photos.

"I can tell you that AI doesn't lose sleep over tv console lengths." Me either. The TV size is likely to change over time-a new console to fit someone's personal opinion each time is ridiculous. If it bother's those that live with it they will change it if not LET IT GO, is my thinking! A plant was my knee jerk reaction too. Didn't notice the items not being centered on the wall. I do like the sconce idea--after centering. A random floor lamp? WHY???? The challenge is your use of the term clutter has me thinking the gallery picture would give you fits if in your home. Clutter is an opinion word only you can react to for yourself.

I'd like to suggest that perhaps the wall where you have the the TV screen just might not be the right location.

What lisedv showed and westcoasthopeful said =exactly my initial reaction. I prefer a cabinet about your size with the width of your tv and am planning the same look for my new room. I actually dislike a lot of unnecessary extra room on each side and disagree the proportions are off - only if you buy into some dictum that it needs to be 25% longer, blah, blah. blah.

I wouldn't do anything because I like the TV to stand alone with no distractions when I'm watching it. I would lose the console altogether. Mine just hang on walls with nothing under or around them.

@lisedv's inspiration photo is a great way to go, though put a large live plant by the window instead of that lamp. Notice that the drapes she shows elevate that whole end of the room.

If you want to make the TV disappear, then a dark accent wall that harmonizes with your console, TV, and furnishings is another possibility if it doesn't darken or shrink the room too much. (This is why we ask Design Dilemma poster to show ALL FOUR WALLS OF A ROOM.) The rest of the room affects how the TV wall should look, but we don't have those photos.

We installed molding onto an empty wall to create some texture.
