you'd have to have a custom hood fabricated.

If you already have an exhaust pipe that is buried in the wall, I'd take advantage of that. All these hoods design to align with angled ceilings are going to be $$$$ and look awkward.

I'm not commenting on how the hood might meet the ceiling, but rather the cabinets, and hood width.

You typically choose a hood 6" wider than your stove, and for some hoods, like the one shown, space the cabinets away from it.

You probably will want additional end panels to go back to the wall, and depending on your dimensions, how the cabinets fit into the corners will need to be considered.

When we were planning our kitchen remodel about 10 years ago, I was fretting about how to design the kitchen range hood under our sloped ceiling. I got a stainless chimney style hood for dirt cheap, but because my house is a farm house, it seemed too modern.

In the end, between my KD and my GC husband, they came up with this design. We ordered an extra deep wall cabinet with no doors, bumped it out a little and up a little higher for the crown molding. We added the beadboard to hide the pipe. The pipe vents out the wall.

Since the hood and cabinets are all connected, my eye stays at cabinet height and I just ignore the slope. I plan to wrap the painted posts and beams in redwood someday so they blend more with the redwood walls. I need to repaint the cabinets, they have discolored and have this weird staining that won’t come off. They look disgusting, so don’t look too close!

How about slim cabinets above a hood that vents out the rear such as this Zephyr AK7536CS Tempest II 650 CFM 36 Inch Wide Wall Mounted Range Hood?
