I like the black, but I'd remove the cabinets on either side and make it a feature wall -- tile all the way to the ceiling, black hood and IMO will look really good.

Even if you go with the white, I don't like the side cabinets there. The hood together with the cabinets just doesn't look right to my eye.

I understand that you want your vent hood to make a statement. I wonder whether black and gold is the statement you want to make. It’s definitely a louder look that might look more at home in the 1990s than the 2020s. I like the shape a lot - the white might be a more elegant choice.

Neither? how about something that matches the appliance it's working for? No on the white - it's too much white, the black isn't tied in with anything else.

Neither. And for goodness sake, don’t build in inaccessible little crevices that can’t even be flossed clean. If you aren’t going to remove the cabinets to either side to do a proper statement hood, the style of the hood needs to change.

Neither. No uppers. And that cabinet to the left of the range top is going to have issues with the drawer opening. Angles are horrid, and create clearance issues. Especially with a range top that protrudes. The hood doesn't look deep enough o deal with that full rangetop depth either.
