You can get those tiles painted, you know. Just look for any tub refinishing company. I've done it in 3 bathrooms so far, and have been quite pleased with the results. Cost for one one tub, one tile surround plus the two adjoining 1/2 walls was around $800. Our original tiles were Tweety-Bird yellow in one bath and Maalox pink in another. The third was that awful grayish mauve color that was so popular in the 1950s.

A matching tones for the wall as the bathroom fixtures would be another option to consider.

I'm a color consultant for Sherwin Williams. If you like warm tones, you could consider Kilim Beige or Nomadic Desert. Both colors are warm and neutral and won't turn pink like some beige's do.

Try grey for the walls. Ignore the tiles and decorate with grey towels and accessories. Get a rug that is long....almost a runner to cover most of the floor. If budget allows, you can purchase paint for tiles and paint them, and you can paint out the grout of the tiles in the floor which is easy to do and will make them look like new. You can find all these special paints in Home Depot. Rustoleum has a lot of different types of paint.
