Help me fix this mess!

Hello Houzz community,

Just recently moved to an ocean front furnished condo. Unfortunately the newly painted teal walls do not match with any of the furniture.

Any feedback much appreciated, thanks.

Is there an option to paint over the teal walls?

Repaint. This time you'll probably want to get a color that coordinates better with the floors and furniture. That means bigger sample boards or peel and stick to view in your space and light. Everyone has to do that. I'd repaint myself. Always use an extension for your roller when painting. Wooster Alpha for your angled trim brush.

Personally, I would donate the sofa and chair. A nice white slip covered sofa (Pottery Barn has great ones) in a slimmer profile, one coordinating chair to go with whatever paint you choose, some nice art, end tables and lamps. I like the dining room chairs but you could paint those a softer color. Area rug in seating area. My favorite beach wall paint is SW Breathless…it’s a slightly periwinkle and a good background for art. Also, you need a slim piece of molding all around the top of current molding to close that gap.

Is this a rental (where changes may be limited) or did you buy/inherit this unit?

Thank you all for your recommendations
Most furniture is gone and unit has been repainted.

Any links to nice furniture. I would like a contemporary/retro look

    "I would like a contemporary/retro look."

Contemporary refers to today. Retro, if you don't add an era, refers to reproducing the look of an unspecified time in the past. "Contemporary/retro" may mean something to you, but you can see how it's unfair to expect anyone else to interpret such a vague statement according to what is in your mind, and your mind only.

Houzz is a wonderful source for photographs of home furnishings, and there is no shortage of images of home furnishings all around the web. I suggest you start building look-books of what you like, using Houzz's Ideabook feature. That will help you to identify what you'd most like, and if necessary, to illustrate for the rest of us, so we can better help you.

You will find that the Pro designers here can help you best if you include an accurate 2D drawing to scale of the room(s) you want to furnish, with all dimensions labeled in Imperial measurements (feet and inches). This is so they can recommend sizes of furniture that will actually fit in your space, leaving room for foot-traffic flow and accommodating all aspects of your space in a cohesive design. (Cohesive in the sense that everything looks good and works well together. Not necessarily matchy-matchy or "decorated" and impersonal.)
