Would you consider just a king comforter, then over top have a cover cut to the size you need? I found a vendor on etsy who makes covers for sofas and chairs, and will also do a custom size. I am considering two for wing chairs. You can message him...he responds and is very helpful. Item comes from Turkey, so there will be a shipping charge.

The size of the bed you mention is a standard King size. You can find bedspreads to fit that size, Here are a few examples I found on Wayfair.

Comforters NEVER go to the ground. You're looking for a bedspread.

I'm not even sure what the technical name for what I want. I think I want a down comforter in a duvet cover, that is what I currently have and I love it but I want is to almost reach the floor. I found a comforter on Coma Inducer that is Oversized Alaskan King: 160" x 160" but I think that might be too big.

That would be a custom size if you want it to go all the way to the floor.

Not to mention that all beds are different heights etc.

Split kings are two Twin XL beds placed together, at least in the US.

Google oversized or jumbo king duvet or comforter. Most are still only 100 x 114.

My parents and grandparents have had a split king my entire life. They have either had custom made bed coverings in order for them to hit the floor, or they have ones that do not hang long enough over the edge as you desire.

Yes, most Europeans with this sized bed will have two comforters on top. (I was a house manager for a couple that had this.) But those often sit on top of the bed and do not hang down to the floor as you wish.

As I said this seems like a custom order, not a big deal, just not likely to get mainstream store suggestions for a niche idea used differently than most do.

Even oversized bedspreads are generally made for a 24" drop, not a 30" drop.

Drop is the distance from the floor to the top of the mattress.

An oversized bedspread for a king is usually 124" wide (78+23+23) so it will hang one inch above the floor on a bed with a 24" drop.

Comforters are generally made with for a 12" (102" wide) to 15" drop (108" wide) to cover the mattress, not go to the floor. On top of that, they sometimes shrink when you wash them.

Bedding does not need to go all the way to the floor, but if you are like me and use the space under the bed to store things it is nice if the under the bed bins are hidden. I also don't want the box spring showing and I want enough overhang so that when I am in the bed and laying on my side, the comforter or bedspread has enough overhang to cover my backside and not leave an open draft. (My 2 large dogs lay on top of the comforters next to me, so I can't pull blanket from the other side.)

The solution for me is to buy king sized comforters and bedspreads for my queen size bed. (adds 9" drop on either side.) unless it is an oversized bedspread with the 23" on each side.

(My bed is 27" from the floor to the top of the bed). The frame is not attractive so I don't like seeing it. A couple of inches isn't noticeable, but I don't want to see more than 6" max so I need at least 21" drop.

If you get something that is within a few inches of the floor you can add a bed skirt to hide the frame. In my spare room I have one that covers the box spring and frame (placed between the box spring and mattress.

If you frame is pretty or at least not ugly, you can get box spring covers or get matching/coordinating sheets and cover the box spring.

You can add a coordinated edge to the comforter or bedspread. I have purchased queen size and twin size coverlets and cut the twin size into strips to add inches to each side of the queen sized coverlet. I have also added strips of coordinated sheets with lace over the top as an edge.

Sometimes getting what you want requires a bit of creativity, unless you have the money to have something made to meet your specifications.

The bed is a split king so a bed skirt is not an option, unless i get something custom made. It is also an adjustable bed. My bed is 30" from the floor to the top of the mattress. We live in 600 sq ft so I do use under my bed for storage, and I dislike being able to see it. Thank you for all the help!

Velcro a tailored skirt or fabric to the frame to hide what is under the bed. You may need to add Buckram interfacing at the bottom if you don't have a bar straight across to stiffen the fabric so it doesn't droop at all or velcro or glue a thin piece of wood across the bottom of each frame to provide support for the fabric.

You have to get creative if you have something outside of the ordinary.

An adjustable bed is a whole other thing for bedding We have split queen but only the head end is split so I bought bottom sheets that are split at the top to fit that and just regular top sheet and coverlet it works for us. I have king coverlets to go to the floor . my bed is 22" high at most so not an issue. I do like my coverlets to go to the floor. I never use duvets or comforters.

How about two twin bed skirts?
