I’m looking for a custom home builder in the Texas Hill Country area. The plan is to find a few acres of land and build on it. I’m trying to keep costs on the more affordable side. Not manufactured-home cheap, but definitely not high-end luxury either.

Has anyone here worked with a custom builder in the area that you’d actually recommend?

I’ve come across some companies in my research, but I can’t find any independent reviews online, which feels like a bit of a red flag.

Any insight or recommendations would be appreciated. Good or bad experiences.

Edit: I think it may be helpful to be more specific about what I mean by "affordable". The budget is $600,000. And, the Hill Country is a big area. This could be anywhere from New Braunfels to Blanco to Kerrville.
