How would seeing it in someone elses house help you. Buy a box bring it home and lay it out that is how you buy flooring . That tiny pic already looks busy to me

The asvice still stands you need to see a whole box alyed out to really understand what you will be getting even lay it out in your garage where you are now . That sample already loks busy to me and please never buy flooring on line

While you're testing that flatcut open grain oak, look at the many options for engineered European Oak. Those species have a more closed grain, are less yellow and every flooring source is offering them in 7-12" wide planks matte finish or unfinished.

The sample you posted illustrates why you can't rely on samples. It's already faded, as you can tell from the darker area around the label. It probably had a larger label which was replaced after the rest of the sample faded. If you don't want to be unpleasantly disappointed, please get a box of current stock to view in person in your current home.

I know I try all different angles to get cell phone shadows out of my closeup photos!
