bathroom shelves

last month

What can I install in front of these bathroom shelves to hide the clutter?

Thinking of getting a handy man for it but I need some ideas of what I can do/get.

That’s a great space. As on organizer, I suggest you take everything off the shelves, sort keep/toss/is there a better place for this? Return only the things you use frequently (multiple times a week.) Things you use less often don’t need to be there.

For me, a door or curtain would be annoying and encourage more clutter.

Not much could be installed to be honest. I would get taller boxes and hide the stuff a bit more.

Ok guys i just took your advice and took only 10 minutes to clean this out. It looks a million times better.

Ordinarily I scoff at what I’m about to say, but I kind of ”staged” my shelves in my bathroom and the hall bath. Even though they are behind closed doors, I just looks so much nicer when I reach in for shampoo or tp. Prettier baskets, even a shelf of my perfume bottles I never wear arrayed. Top shelf that I can’t reach anyway.

    So glad the purge helped!

I had open bathroom shelves like yours in our old house and I miss them so. I love the easy reach into a basket. I had tall baskets and weeded them out monthly. Things expire, aren't used.

It is my opinion that most of what ends up in many bathrooms are bottles of stuff that are not really necessary . Just by paring down to what is really of value and good use will eliminate most of it.

I dont mean to be snarky, just honest. Most of what ends up there is something that no one needed in the first place. We would be better to not consume such products.

But, one thing that you could do that might be of use in that regard is to see if you can find some small fixtures with doors or maybe even drawers, that fit into a shelf , a shelf insert, if you will.

I have an old Steralizer cabinet of wood and a nice glass front that we use as one would use a medicine cabinet .It sits on a shelf in teh bedroom, rather than in a bathroom. My aunt had been a hairdresser/barber back a long time ago and this was where she kept her clean brushes and combs. It fits right onto an Ikea billy shelf.

But, eliminating the excess and clutter is the best and most solid option. And enjoy the savings of not buying most of those kinds of things that end up on the bathroom shelves.

I dont see how there could be a door put up there. It is a bit of an awkward space.

Saw this bathroom in AD and thought of your nice open shelves.
