You should deal with the source of moisture. You already have space under the door that should provide enough air flow. Where is the moisture coming from? Does the rest of the basement have it?

The space on the bottom should be enough but here in Florida we use these packages hung on rods.

Plug in a dehumidifier.

Water damage is expensive to repair.
