We have a 1970’s marble mantel that is very wide and angled (on a mammoth stone fireplace). We want to give it an updated northwest look by wrapping it with wood. We are looking for suggestions on:

1. How to build the wood wrap with the angle?
2. How to adhere it to the marble mantle?
3. What type of wood is best?
   Just fyi, we are going to use Romabio Venetian Glaze on the stone and replace fireplace with an electric insert.
