Layout confusion

9 months ago

Hi we just purchased a beautiful home and I need help with the living room layout.
We bought this new couch a year before so I have to work with it to complete the living room. I'm not sure where to add the chairs, what kind of chair or what color. Also I want it to feel cozy and welcoming. Please help.

    Your rug is far too small.

    Draw and measure the space, Post it as a jpeg in a comment,

    Is that a "chaise sectional", or you have an ottoman pulled up to it.?

    When you draw the space, every solid wall, every window, every passage, where you enter, ? You get useful information in return;

    Jpeg.neat , legible, bold black on white. Upload

    Pictures standing at the 3 window wall back into the space will help. A large ottoman instead of the small coffee table will help it feel cozy. Ottoman acts as table.

    Its a chaise not an ottoman. Wish we waited to ordered the couch i would have switched the chaise to the other side and added 1 chairs closer to the window. I will definitely get a bigger rug, but it appropriate to put 2 chairs where the entrance of that room is?

    The rug seems too small and has a violet color that doesn't work in the room.

    When you have a sofa with a chaise at one end, the only possible location for lounge chairs is at the other end. You may have to slide the sectional closer to the window depending on the dimensions.

    Thank you so much for the layout. That's what I had in mind but wasn't too sure if that was the right thing to do from a design point. Also Im looking for a bigger rug. We will be moving this rug to the bedroom. The rug has green and browns in it, the lighting is what's making it look purple.

    I was also thinking of adding small table at the end of the couch on the chair side. I would love to do a consult with you but I see that you're based out of Florida. Do you do online consults?

    You can add an accent or drum table to the end of the sectional. See layout below. There are plenty of square items in your room, consider a round drum table as visual relief.

    Also the size and shape of the coffee table is not working for this space. I'm guessing there are others sitting on the sectional who might want to put their feet up. Consider a ottoman/table for this location. The table slides over the ottoman for dual usage.

    Yes I do online consulting.

    I like your space and everything I see in the background!
