Nice space. Love that built-in shelf. Furniture arrangement depends on what you do and need in here.

Do you need to store anything and can it be stored in the white built-ins?

Can you just use a desk and chair? Would you like an upholstered sitting area to work on a laptop or just a traditional desk and desk chair set up?

Are you on zoom meetings a lot, and if so you'd need to think about the direction the light is coming in from the window and on to your screen. I'd color drench the whole room a deep olive. It would look good with your floors.

Thank you! I won’t really need to store anything so I’ll probably get some books or trinkets for the white built in. I am in zoom meetings quite often though, it’s actually one of the reasons why I’m not sure how to place the furniture due to lighting. Ideally all I would need is a desk and chair in the room, something mid-century. An extra chair and small table would’ve been nice for a sitting but I don’t think I have the room.

Where is the entrance the the room and what is the window size?

Here’s a more accurate one, entrance is at the bottom, French doors 4’8” wide, and the window up top is 6’3” including the sill.

I think I would put my desk in front of the bump out and then a comfortable chair by the window.

For me these look interesting but in my real life I like nice bright office space to work in . I do not like the builtin INMO it will drive everythinng you do I think removing the top part and replacing with simple shelving would be better . You do have one nice sized window so that might work if you place your desk near there . I would check out Farrow and Ball colors they tend to be more saturated than most paints so have ag reat depth of color . They do some awesome greens

In my opinion, one does not select a color for a room in isolation from other colors in the house. You don't need to match, but there should be some feeling of continuity from adjacent rooms. I would be cautious about making your office moody if the rooms around it are bright white--maybe the moody color can be used as an accent in such rooms.

Thanks for the layout. Place your desk in front of the window so the light from it evenly lights your face. People get pretty grim on zoom when window lighting is coming from beside or behind them. You'll need to pay around with the down lights above your head and see how they look when you are on screen. Luckily you have tons of outlets at this end of the room.

I noticed there are no holes in the desk to run cords through, but I sense you might not be too fussy about that kind of thing. Good that the desk has drawers. There are usually tons of desks like this on Facebook Marketplace too if you want to buy something that someone else has already put together!

Narrow down your color choices using small chips from the paint store, then get large swatch samples from Samplize and move them around to different places in the room and look at them at different times of day.

Your insp pics are flat. You might be attacted to that look. Flat used to be thought of as impossible to clean but they make a lot of good flat washable paint formulas these days.

Leave the arch. It has so much character and you have no need for bookshelves anyway.

The current window treatments need to go. Do you like naked windows like in your insp pics?
