Struggling to decide on window coverings

last month

Need your help picking out window coverings for our new kitchen windows! I’m traditionally a wide slat wood blinds kinda girl but I’m not sure that’s the right look for these windows. Do I go with something that covers the whole window (could end up being heavy due to the size) or a set of three? What are your recommendations?

you've got great window trim, I would choose inside mount blinds or shades. a patterned fabric or a bamboo blind for color and texture. OR both. a roman blind on the dining room window to soften the look.

Do you need blinds? I only ask because in the pics it looks like trees and privacy. We have light filtering roller shades in our great room and we don’t need them for privacy but do close them in summer for sun.

What do you need from window treatments? Privacy (daytime and/or night time), light/heat control, something pretty OR a combination of those.

I like simple cellular shades with bottom-up/top-down option, because most of my windows are kept fully open/naked, except for the times I need light/heat control or privacy. In some rooms I also add stationary panels to add softness and color/pattern.

Looking for privacy, mostly. We face the street and at night and you can see everything happening inside. But we have beautiful sunrises, so I’d like to have something that’s easy to open or pull up in the morning.

I have had great luck with Blinds.com they have a variety of colors and styles and often have great sales

I'd use outside mount--if you want full view when they're fully retracted. If you use inside mount you'll lose some of the view/light even when they're pulled all the way up.

But the natural wood shades will be good to bring in some warmth and organic texture to the room.

Depending on the brand and style , inside mount, won’t block the view. . Roller blinds would likely sit inside by the window itself and not much lower. Some people like their moulding to shine and others cover it. Yours seems quite nice so personally I wouldn’t cover. This is ours for reference, excuse the paper chains for fun with family

I am in no way a wood blind girl in fact our new house is loaded with them and I cannot wait to get them all.out.Why would you choose them in tht space at all Waht do you need from windowcoverings , thta is my first question . Waht I hate about the blinds is first they weigh a ton so up and down is IMO a real PITA so tilt it works but I like to see out my windows to enjoy a view or just get nice light .Some nice roman shades in a fabric that works in the space .

    How about cafe curtains?

I'm a big inside mount cellular shade girl. My only concern (and I have this issue in a couple of my windows) is trying to reach over a counter/sink to grab the bottom lifter to put the shades up is a pain. Motorized would solve the problem.

Cafe curtains are lovely, but they are more traditional/country, and your kitchen/home looks fairly modern.
