Tile Layout Orientation - Primary Bathroom

last month

Looking for advice on the layout/orientation of tile for primary bathroom. The primary bathroom the bathroom floor and the tile in the shower (walls and floor) will be the same exact tile to give the room a seamless and consistent visual flow. The tile is large format tile - 24" x 48" and will be laid in stacked (not offset). The shower is perpendicular to the bathroom entry door. Typically the tile would be laid so the long edge of the tile is parallel to the door. However, if the tile is laid in this orientation and continued in same orientation to create the consistent flow visual, the back wall of the shower (the one most visible) would have tiles going up the wall with the short edge stacked and I don't think that will look good. Should the floor tile be laid with the long edge parallel to the door or the short edge? Or is it preferred to lay the floor tile with long edge parallel to the entry door and change the tile orientation at the shower so the shower floor tile and all walls have the tile stacked on long edge?
