I would need to see all the pieces I am not fond of family photos in public spaces so not sure there. Religious art ???? Not sure about that.If you show us the pieces there are some great people here who can help with maybe even a "gallery" wall somehwere . It is hard to imagine what the pieces are like without pics.

For sure you need a larger piece of artwork over the fireplace.

Consider a picture ledge in some part of your spaces.

I love family pictures and think they should be visible and loved by all in your home. The photo above the fireplace looks a bit too small. Can you show the missing two walls?

A home isn't a "public space"; it isn't an office or a business. Hang your family photos wherever you want them. It's hard to say where you should hang them with only two pics. What's on the other side of the room, or is this just the area where you want to hang the pictures?

Definitely larger over fireplace. Let the size of the firebox opening help guide you.

Hello! Thank you all for your suggestions! Here are more examples. I more so need help with layout... I can decide on the photo that will go inside.. I need to know/see how I should use the wall space. Ex. could I arrange 2-4 photos over the fire place? - I used to put that large piece over the fireplace that is no located between the living/dining. Should I move that back and do something else with that space? Could I do an arrangement of 4 photos on the wall by the stairs? I have all different size frames and a photo printer that goes up to 11x17 so I can change things up if necessary.

That larger pic seems to be the right size to go over the fireplace. A picture ledge as below might look good on the wall between living and dining.
