I am not a pro at all but I wonder if the wood and brick combo on the garage door would go well or not. In the porch area it seems okay but they are adjacent not on same wall. Not sure if what I am saying makes sense or not!

The front facade is quite busy with too many colors (brick, siding, trim & windows) and shapes. More busyness added with 2 roof types/colors.

It looks like a house whose windows were updated during the "black window trend" and it might not have been the best choice for the style/age of the house.

Maybe someone can photoshop the trim around the windows upstairs, from white to the color of the siding. I think the house will look better without highlighting all those rectangles. I wouldn't highlight the front door either.

Also gutters are not accents! They are necessary for water management and don't need to be highlighted either. Paint your front downspout the same color as your brick, so it visually disappears. and you don't have that vertical black stripe right at your front entry.

Also paint the top siding triangle of your garage gable the same color as the house and not the trim color. Again, you are just highlighting a shape that does not need highlighting.

I’m not a pro either but I have the same reservations about a wood stained garage door in combo with the brick. Unfortunately I can’t photoshop it but I think ( not sure however ) that the garage door would look nice painted the same as your siding. Maybe someone on here can do that. A picture without the truck blocking would help.

I like the black windows, door and other pieces. I might do the garage black. But I also have black windows and a black door and garage so I maybe am biased

I do not like the siding color with the brick at all.Is the metal roof blue? Maybe do someting different for the siding color then taht same color for the garage door. This is my fave with brick and I love how all the trim and garage the same as the siding

Well, the siding is James Hardie and recently installed, so there is no changing it. I would rather paint the brick to match the siding. Would you still paint the garage door to match?

By the way, the siding is grey, not blue.

I guess black to echo porch roof, black windows, and front door. The problem, as others have pointed out, is that you have too many colors that don't play well together--brown/grayroof, black porch roof, siding that doesn't match either roof, white pillars. (If you have to replace your main roof in the future, choose a black roof to match your metal porch roof.) This Dilemma is an example of choosing main features one by one instead of coordinating an overall palette for now and for the future.

Here's a house with three of your colors: gray roof, white trim, black garage door.

Red brick house with black windows, black garage doors though no competing siding or visible roof.

Add black vertical numerals on the garage either over the garage door or vertical black numerals lined up on the side of garage door.

You already have plenty of white trim, but just throwing this in anyway. The point is to have just a couple colors complement each other throughout so they're harmonious.

Consider rehabbing your front lawn to add to curb appeal.

Note to red brick homeowners: If you have a highly visible roof, coordinate roof color with the brick--brown tones work well, black if you have black in your bricks, charcoal.

I love the examples. I totally agree that my roof needs to be black. The roof was changed from black to the current color years ago. My husband and the roofer collaborated, but I think he finally sees the light. Believe it or not, I have been combing ETSY for vertical black house numbers to offset the extra space on the right side of the garage. And yes, the house updates are being piecemeal. But the black drain spoot stays- I love it. I chose the gray hardie to blend with the brick (gray/black spots), but I am still leaning toward painting the brick to match the siding. I included a pic of the back.

So take my opinion for what it is, just another homeowner with their own preferences, but if you are embracing the black and grey look i would lean more into it. Get rid of the white and make it grey or even black paint the brick if you want to. Paint the garage the same grey as the siding too or black. Our house is a dark grey colour called storm and trim, posts etc are all black.
