What color will the white cedar weather to if not by the salt water, say in the Midwest?

Without the salt air, i'm afraid they turn black.

Love cedar shake and was planning to side a cape cod style house with it. Scared that it turns black in Midwest. What happens to it in Atlanta?

I assume it would turn black, if not treated. You could probably use a pre-stained shingle though.
