I would fix the chairs so they are in more of a conversation setting with the sofa. Why ceiling light? I would rather see a table with a lamp between the chairs, a floor lamp and another table and lamp on the sofa ends. Definitely add curtain panels to the windows. A piece of art about 2/3 the the width of the sofa for over night. Look around for the art not a home goods or tjmaxx thingy. I think brass lamps would look great in your room.

In addition, pull colors from the rug for art, throw pillows and blanket.

Start with drapes. Buy semi sheer and the room will feel more “done”. Undressed windows have that feeling. JCPenny has an amazing array of drapes for all budgets and lots of fabrics.

Then keep your eyes open for the smaller items since yard sales, thrift stores and Craigslist can get you terrific buys on those things. Look for unique ones that add your personality to the room.
