Need help with sink size for a 82” double vanity

Hi! Hoping I can get some feedback for a reasonable undermount sink size for a 23”x82” custom vanity. The vanity is all drawers, and because of a mix-up, the space for sinks under the mirrors can only accommodate sinks with a maximum dimension of 20” side to side.
I have a rectangular sink that will fit, 11.25” x 16.375”. But I’m afraid it will look abnormally small, given the depth of the vanity- too much space in front and behind the sink.

I have used a square sink, 14.625” x 14.625”, in another bathroom, but with a shorter countertop (approx 60”). Do you think a square sink might look better?

I would really like a rectangular/square versus oval sink if at all possible. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

for me personally, it's not about the size of the sink, it''s placement.

20" is plenty big for a bathroom sink. Center the sink within the base cabinet, and center the mirror ON the sink. a 6 foot long vanity isn't the problem, base cabinet placement is the issue.

Two base cabinets of drawers? Three? filler strips?

Post a photo or drawing of the cabinet.

I agree, a rectangular sink over an oval for a more modern look.

Thanks, Lyn. Here is a picture. The cabinet maker already adjusted the opening somewhat, but I think we need a lot more space as any sinks we try get caught on the corners of the cabinet frame. Re: placing an 11” sink in the middle of the 23” wide vanity, 6” of counter space on the front and back of the sink feels like a lot to me?Appreciate your help!

Re: placing an 11” wide basin in the middle of the 23” wide vanity, 6” on the front and back of the sink feels like a lot to me. I’d prefer a more typical basin width of maybe 12-13”?

Also, we’ve tried numerous sinks with exterior dimensions of <20”, but the exterior width front-back (typically around 15” for a 12-13” front-back basin) won’t fit. And as the bowl length gets shorter, so does the bowl width. Appreciate your help!

the sink measurement should be 3 to 4 inches smaller than the vanity box opening.

FYI, I just happened to open this post, in the future, if you want to address someone that posts on your dilemma, you need to add a @before their name so they actually get a notification and can respond to your statement. I hope you get your dilemma worked out.

The mirror placement looks nice.

I am confused as to the style in tha bathroom the walls scream farmhouse and the vanity ultra modern. A rectangular sink in the size that fits I do not think bathroom sinks need to be huge and counter space is alot more imporatnt .
