Acrylic pan or tiled pan?

last month

We are wanitng to redo ourbath in our 35 yo house. It currently has an acrylic one piece shower. With the current floor pan, we can enlarge, coming out the front, the shower to 48 x 48.

That size is difficult to find in premade pans. I really do not want a tile floor. I actually would be happy with some sort of solid walls but am slowly coming to terms that we will most likely end up with tile. Can't say I want to clean it and for the potential for future issues, I would prefer not to use tile.

Our house is probably worth $500-600k, which in our smaller area places us in the upper 1/3 of houses.

Do I need to get over myself and just do tile? We are late 60's but have no need to move until it's time for the final one!
