Why would you want interior doors to "pop"

Doors should match trim and that hallway is so narrow adding color will make it feel smaller.

I agree, why would you want that hall of doors to pop? Not the place to use anything that will pop. The hallway is narrow, and trim and doors should match, but, in this case, painted the wall color would make them recede, so they dont pop.

I would leave the hallway as it is and use it to reproduce the scene of Torrance on his tricycle from The Shining.

There's nothing special about that hall or doors where it needs to be a focal point. You would need a far wider hall with more architectural interest in order to want to delve into contrast reducing the size visually.

Instead of the doors consider wallpaper or stripe paint. I’ve seen hallways elevate with striped paint. Maybe update the light fixture too?

Instead of painting the doors I would start by installing proper lighting, something like a 5-light tracklight. Then find a runner and art for the walls that you like...
