Lighting could make a huge difference here. I’d replace the basic ceiling fixture with something more decorative and use the wall across from the sofa for one strong focal point rather than lots of small pieces. A moon-style light could be a really fun option here — either a ceiling design or a wall-mounted one — and it would add both warmer light and a decorative element to the room.

I recently compared 8 different moon lights, including both wall and ceiling designs that could work really well in a space like this: https://youtu.be/g-R98L8EdII

Because this is also a guest room, I would plan the wall across from the sofa around the sofa bed in its *open* position, not how the room looks on workdays. Open it fully and tape out a comfortable path to the door before buying a console, bookcase, or extra chair for that wall. If the desk is on that side, keeping its storage shallow and closed will calm the office clutter without taking the bed’s clearance; one useful pinboard or a single large piece of art can sit above it. I’d also give a guest an accessible outlet/reading light and one clear place for a bag. A photo of the wall opposite the sofa, ideally with the bed extended, would make a more precise suggestion possible. The window-and-sofa side you showed already gives you a nice starting point.
