About smoked salmon

We really needed to start eating/ getting Omega 3 in our diet. We basically get none because the foods listed as highest are not coming to my table as we don’t like them.

BUT entered Honey Smoked Salmon and whoda thought??? It is outstanding. Not too smoky not too salty not too oily just the right price and size for 2 for a weeks worth. YUM!

DH made an outstanding horseradish sauce. Equal parts cream cheese, homemade yogurt and a splash of White Balsamic and a scoop of horseradish. OMG! It was delicious slathered on my homemade baguettes from yesterday .

Heres a couple pics.

Never heard of this type of smoked salmon. Ill look for it. Ive been on a smoked salmon binge ( sort of) lately.

One of my favorite restaurants ( Terrain Cafe) serves this one and Ive been recreating a close version at home.

Your baguettes look amazing. Love that shiny finish.

My favorite way to eat salmon is raw, but cold smoked salmon is a very close second, and that salmon in your pictures looks really good.

    Now want some too.

It has to be ” hot smoked” for us to eat it so Lox is out of the question. It is a texture thing.

Honey Smoked is sold at Kroger and there is a ” store locator” on the Website.

@eld6161 2 oz two x a week is all that is needed . This is an 8 oz package so 1/2 a package per person a week. Omega 3 doesn’t have to be consumed on a daily basis. It is fat soluable so it is not going anywhere like water soluable that need to be taken daily. It has 1600 mg per serving and required Omega 3 is upto 3500 mg per week. So this is 3200 per person per week eating 4oz for $4.50 per person! A great deal and with real food not supplements.

I will have trouble leaving it alone lol. It is really that good.

@dedtired I will try to replicate that sauce. I have fresh beets and creme fraiche and capers. I can’t eat garlic so the bagel seasoning is out. I couldn’t find cornichon today but that is supposed to be good with it also. Thank you , I have really got baguettes down now so we eat a lot of them 😂😵‍💫😳.

Everyone please post back with pictures and details about serving.

Trail, instead of trying to make beet relish, I just get chopped beets from the Whole Foods salad bar. I skip the Everything Bagel seasoning too.

@mtnrdredux_gw very kind of you to say so. I get French flour from the importer L’Epicerie. I have for a number of years. It makes exquisite baguettes. I just toss everything in and 🤞. 😊🙏

@dedtired I buy beautiful beets at the market. Peel and cut into small cubes. Roast covered tightly til tender in a glass dry dish. We eat them on our salads and then I made the hummus which DH has learned to eat lol. I will report back on the relish . I am so pleased about the salmon. I have a LOT of brain power to catch up on 😵‍💫 c

There is a French bakery cafe near Drybar that has a sandwich very similar to what dedtired posted. It’s super good.

My Harris Teeter does carry that brand but it is out of stock.
