Stick with an Italian manufacturer if you are looking for contemporary. American Leather Furniture is also a good option.

American Leather and Omnia may work. They may offer something custom to match a design you like.

What you want to look for in a recliner is the mechanism manufacturer, that's the heart of any motion furniture. The two best are Leggett & Platt, and Ultra-Mek. Those are both USA-made and far superior to the pot-metal Chinese ones. Both are labeled on the metal frame and visible when the footrest is extended. Second thing is always buy power units, not manual. While many people think the power ones will have issues down the road, the opposite is true. The motors in the power units gently lift/lower the footrest whereas manual ones usually get slammed back and forth (which eventually pops the rivets in the mech requiring a full mechanism replacement). In my store (now retired) I used to order 20 or so replacement mechs for clients each year. I would order one power mech every ten years!

No one makes a recliner unit better than Hancock and Moore, I've carried them all. They will also be at the higher end, cost-wise. In fact, I have two new recliners from H&M arriving at my house a week from today - I won't buy anything else for my home.

Here's a tip no one tells you about. Make SURE before you order you have a clear delivery path and openings for doors and passageways at least 33 1/2" wide. Dual Recliners are very heavy and hard to deliver, they cannot be twisted and turned like non-motion sofas - many are pushing 300 lb. They are nearly impossible to move up and down interior staircases. If you have tight spaces or stairs to go up, consider ordering them modular. They cost more when the come in pieces, but are far easier to handle.
