I'd like to suggest you move the location of the bed and side tables.

The round mirror doesn't work with your other selections.

Definitely heftier bedside tables. With lamps that large, the mirror behind one of them does not add much, certainly won’t reflect that much light. Can’t wait to see more pics of the room, I really like your headboard.

Can you post pictures of all 4 walls? Is that the only position for the bed? The chair looks squeezed by the bed, then there is a lot of floor space. The wall color seems to light. Draperies would look nice and even layer an area rug over the existing so the floor isn't so plain or create a seating area with an area rug. Can't tell if that will fit.

Great, now upload the floor plan, showing all measurements of walls, windows, doorways, etc. Also show where each doorway leads to, ex. hall, bath, closet.

I am getting no feel for this space maybe what I need is a to scale plan since you can't provide a picture of the whole space . What you have given is just snaps of walls no actual connection to the whole space . I need context and we do not have that . What is your style to start .

I’ll have to get the measurements. The bathroom has been updated. The barn door leads to it as you can see in the photo Our tastes have changed from mission and that’s I ask, is it time to move on…

Here are some ideas for your bedroom... replaced the bed and nightstands, slip-covered the armchair, new curtains, new chandelier and accessories.

I am not a pro, but if you wanna start with small changes that will make the bederoom more cozy I would do something like that..

Generally speaking I think the scale and balance here is the challenge…side tables big enough and matching…comfy chairs and table grouped for reading or even having snacks, or watching tv…area rugs can accentuate groupings and /or add color…also drapes that can be drawn for privacy as well as allowing you to “sleep-in” on the days you wish to…also a more decorative and larger mirror over the long chest can be helpful when dressing

The lamps are interesting, maybe a stronger shade color taken from your bedding? Or from any new bedding…

I wanted you to darw a floor plan showing all the windows , doorways where those lead and every measurement clearly marked . That is how we help you . A bunchof dijointed photos are not helpful So get some graph paper and do the drawing and you will be surpised at how much help you get A fllorplan with no measurements is also useless

I understand, was trying to respond to all of the questions.

Here’s the drawing with measurements. Barn door leads to bathroom as shown in other photos. The Bay window is the bump out as shown in other photos. The space left open is the entrance to the room.

You have an Arts and Crafts style bed and a barn door for the bathroom. I'm sure barn doors were used somewhere is a A&C property. So, consider covering it with the wood panels, (close to the stain of the bed.) you can find at Home Depot.

I would paint the walls a different color, but, you don't mention a budget.

You could leave as is for now, but a lovely William Morris style rug under the bed would be a uptick. There are lovely William Morris rugs and it need not be this one. Just an idea.

There is a color called Fig that I would say is in this rug. Quince has a Fig color in bedding.

New end tables, lamps would add to your scheme and definitely a new bureau.

Do you shop consignment or antiques stores, even ebay?

@JUDY GRAHAM, one of the reasons I am considering starting over is our tastes have changed and we aren't in love with Arts & Crafts style. The bed is beautiful but is it time to say goodbye and update the room? The rug is beautiful!

Fair enough. So, what style do you want? Is that a bay window where the white chair is? More shots of the room, please. I do admire the dog bed, as it matches Ollie's (our sweet rag tag from a kill shelter). Notice how he matches the drapes and the floor?

    Let's not forget Fifi/Fido.

    - Murphy doggies bed, instead of the dresser.

    - custom dog bed under the bay window bench.

    - cutom made dog bed under a night table or dresser or TV.

I'd add pics found on houzz but I've tried before and lost the whole post.

@JUDY GRAHAM, if you dig deep in the post, you'll find all the photos. It has become slightly confusing with all the photos at this point ;-). The window nook is where the gross white chair is. I can always move the dog bed, what is a home without all the dog hair, honestly! lol

Well, we are heading out to shop. Focusing on upholstered bed, night stands and lamps. See where we land. Could end up with all new stuff in the end 😂

Dena - it appears that you have a light fixture hanging down over your freestanding tub. If that's correct, I just wanted to make sure that you are aware that it is a code violation.

There have been so many photos on Houzz posted by designers/builders/etc. showing a chandelier hanging down over a tub (especially freestanding tubs) that most people have no idea that it is a code violation (you cannot have a light fixture within 8' above the top of your tub walls - this 8' restriction expands out to cover a 3' area around the tub).

I have a light fixture/chandelier that is installed over my freestanding tub - however, my ceilings are over 11' high in that area - your bathroom ceiling appears to be 8' -9' tall.

Hope that you find some nightstands/lamps + a nice upholstered bed for you room. You have a good sized primary bedroom - I hope that you will continue to update this post as you find new items for the room!
