space planning: 3/4 bath help!

last month

We are renovating a late 1800s farmhouse. I have an awkward space I’m trying to fit a 3/4 bath in. I would really like to keep the chimney if possible as previous owners stripped every ounce of original character out of this house and I’m trying to bring it back.

I was thinking the door, whether it be a pocket door or an outward swinging door, would be along the 5’6” wall (less busy part of home) between the possible vanity and toilet. I am unsure which way the toilet should be facing or if it would fit. Is the space completely crowded? Any other layout I should be considering? I do not want a neo-angle shower. And yes I have a 2nd floor & basement. Both check out for under plumbing & upper vents to roof. I’m including an alcove similar to the look I’m thinking.

I have another general home layout thread started, but unable to find it. Sorry to repeat!
