Will carpeting make my house feel warmer?

II recentlyI recently bought a townhouse with hardwood floors, on a slab its very cold in here and my floors are ice cold which i feel makes the room cold drafts have already been addressed if i were to install carpeting would that help? of course the floor would be warmer but what about the room? i keep ny heat at about 73-76 currently cuz its so cold in here…but its still cold
