Help with my staircase runner

We are trying to dampen the acoustics in our house and are having a staircase runner installed. I think I've picked the carpet to use (Anderson Tuftex Laken). I also need to get a runner for the hallway beside the staircase and one for the hallways leading to our bedrooms.

Should I have the installer make runners out of the same carpet? Or, should I choose different runners separate from the runner? I'm not sure I want matchy-matchy (although I think the mockup looks good?) but I'm not sure what else I'd put there. Here are some mockups with runner only on the stairs, and runners made from the same carpet in the hallways. There is another hallway leading to another bedroom to the left not pictured.

Opinions?

Unless you are a no shoes home, that runner will have a gray streak down the center in no time from soil IMO.

Of course yoyr installer will provide felted pad under the staircase runner. The same pad should be used under the runner down the halway..

Thank you. Yes, perhaps we will choose a different carpet (I like your ideas) but my question was really whether we should do matching runners or separate coordinating runners.

AndersonnTuftex is a great choice for the stairs. I have a beige herringbone. I would do a very simple runner, like a herringbone, but different runners Lots of places to buy runners.

That said, it would not be a mistake to have things matching.

The pattern on the stairs is dizzying to me. It's almost like op art or some sort of optical illusion. I think it could create a hazard, especially when walking down stairs. Can you find something in a darker color (see Beverly's comment about dirt track) and with a more subtle pattern? If you can do that, then I don't think it will be a problem to have the same rug on the stairs and in the hall.
