I suspect a lot of people will not like the brassy shine of the table, but I think it could work. For me though it is not popping against your wall and that is bothering me the most. Is that wallpaper (in the photo it looks like it has a texture)? If not and you can paint, I would consider a grey and maybe a black mirror. Something along the lines of the reverse of this photo. I am also including a couple of articles on gold/brass.
The caveat to all this is that I think this would work in an eclectic glam (I made this up) room - if that doesn't suit your style I would consider replacing it. It also looks slightly small for the space but I can't get a sense of the whole wall.
